Assistant Dean, JD Program and PhD student, Faculty of Law, University of Ottawa.
My qualifications are cross-disciplinary: I began my my career in the discipline of the Arts and taught music for a number of years prior to obtaining an MA in English Literature. Since then I have been immersed in a legal environment. In addition to my administrative role within academia, I am also registered as a doctoral student at uOttawa's Faculty of Law, under the supervision of Dr. Ian Kerr. The working title of my thesis project is "Robotic Pronouncements: Authorship, Artificial Intelligence and Austin." My research aims to develop policy in the context of creative innovation in AI and, correspondingly, will demonstrate further interdisciplinary progression of speech-act theory in the twenty-first century.
