Liza Morton
Counselling Psychologist, Strathclyde University. Chartered (British Psychological Society) and Registered (Health and Care Professions Council) Psychologist currently working in Private Practice, Stirling and at Strathclyde University leading the Professional Practice Module on the Clinical Health Psychology MSc. With a background in research, I gained a PhD in visual perception/cognition at Glasgow University in 2003. Current research interests include medical psychology. I am passionate about using psychological knowledge to improve both the quality of care and the wider experience of living with a heart condition from birth. As a Senior Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Suffolk's Congenital Cardiac Research Centre my experience in this area bridges academia, lifelong personal experience and engagement with key stakeholders and policy makers. Through my involvement in a number projects, including co-creating the photography exhibition Scarred FOR Life, I have established a growing network of collaborators who share my interest. I am always interested to find out about innovative approaches and ideas.
